WordPress, built the boring-reliable way.
MapleGrowth is a Canadian agency that builds and maintains WordPress sites the plugin-light way: lean custom themes, only the plugins that earn their keep, and everything owned by you at handover. Projects start at $1,500 and every price is published.
When is WordPress the right call?
WordPress still runs a huge share of the web for a reason: your team can edit it without a developer, every integration has a path, and no vendor can hold the site hostage. It is the right choice when content changes often, the budget is real, and the people updating pages are not engineers.
It goes wrong through accumulation: a heavy theme, a page builder on top, and forty plugins each solving one small problem. Most “WordPress is slow” complaints are stack complaints. Built lean, WordPress is quick, and lean is the only way we build it.
What the work includes
- Custom themes your team edits without a page builder
- Plugin audits where every plugin justifies itself or goes
- Speed work measured in Core Web Vitals, before and after
- Security hardening, backups, and update discipline
- Rescues: taking over neglected or half-finished WordPress sites
Four phases, one throughline.
Discover
What the site must do, who edits it, and what the current install carries that should not survive the rebuild.
Design
Structure and design system first, theme architecture second. The editing experience is designed, not inherited.
Develop
A lean build with performance budgets checked as we go, and a plugin list short enough to read aloud.
Deploy
Launch, tracking, training for your editors, and a care plan if you want the updates handled for you.
Where the proof stands
The experience claim is simple and checkable in conversation: more than ten years of WordPress work sits behind this service, from small-business sites to plugin development.
Our own site runs a different stack, and we say so rather than hide it: we choose platforms by fit, and for this site the fit was a code-first build. The same fit-first honesty is what you get when we recommend yours.
No published WordPress case study yet. The shelf grows only with real, signed-off work, and that rule is written into our editorial standards.
Asked before signing.
How much does a WordPress site cost?
Project builds start at $1,500, with every tier published on our pricing page. Scope moves the number: page count, custom design against an adapted system, copywriting, integrations, and whether content is migrating from somewhere messy. You get one fixed quote before work starts.
Do you build with page builders like Elementor?
We can work in them, and we build without them by default. Builders trade speed and maintainability for drag-and-drop, and most teams only need well-designed blocks. If your current builder site has become slow, that is a known path: see our migration pages.
Can you take over an existing WordPress site?
Yes, rescues are a normal part of the work: an audit first, then the honest verdict — fix, rebuild, or leave alone — with reasons attached. Care plans cover updates, security patches, backups, and uptime once the site is stable.
Is WordPress outdated in 2026?
No. The platform is actively developed and the editing experience keeps improving. What ages badly is a specific stack: old themes, abandoned plugins, builder bloat. When something else genuinely fits better, a store, an app, a performance-critical site, we say so and point to it.
